Summer Community Fair returns to the City of London
Annual summer fete for residents and visitors
The City of London Corporation’s Community Fair will be back again on Saturday 16 June 2016, bringing fun and entertainment to Guildhall Yard.
This year’s free event is going to be even bigger and better with electrifying entertainment, delicious food stalls and fun activities for people of all ages.
The Community Fair is the City of London’s very own summer fete. Set in the historic surroundings of Guildhall Yard, it unites and celebrates the many diverse aspects of life in the Square Mile.
Local groups and organisations are at the heart of the Community Fair, including City organisations in other parts of London.
Guildhall Yard will be lined with colourful market stalls run by local organisations including clubs, faith groups, learning providers and cultural partners.
They will be offering games, activities, information and handmade items for sale.
There will be hot street food stalls including burritos and tacos from Pink Cactus, and Mediterranean wraps from Ebby's Kitchen.
There will also be a vintage ice cream van and a licensed bar.
Gardening broadcaster and author Charlie Dimmock will be giving planting workshops throughout the afternoon, and there will be a chance to ask her your gardening questions at a Q&A.
The main stage and arena will include a return of regular ballroom stars Nick and Cheyenne, and live Cuban salsa music from the Cubanaires.
More acts will be announced as they are confirmed.
A programme of free activities will be running in the Guildhall Art Gallery during the afternoon including storyteller Vanessa Woolf bringing some of the characters from the gallery's collection to life.
