Students celebrate 98% A-Level pass rate at The City Academy, Hackney

Students at The City Academy, Hackney are celebrating their impressive A-Level results today (16/08).

Sixth formers at the Homerton Row school achieved a 98% pass rate and 68% of students received A*-C grades.

The City Academy, Hackney first opened in 2009 as a coeducational secondary school and sixth form. Since then the school has received two ‘Outstanding’ grades from Ofsted.

Mark Malcolm, Principal at The City Academy Hackney, said:

“Students, parents and staff at the City Academy are celebrating another year of impressive A level results. Almost all of them have already been accepted onto university courses.

“Many are also considering high-level apprenticeships which lead to degree qualifications.

“These results reflect the students’ resilience and hard work over the past two years. Many of the university places offered are out of London and students are excited at the prospect of moving to a new city.”
