Students at City of London Academy (Southwark) celebrate with 73% English and maths

Students at the City of London Academy (CoLA) (Southwark) were jumping for joy as they received their GCSE results today (23/08).

73% of students at the academy received grade 4+ in English and maths (equivalent to A*-C grades), with 54% achieving grade 5 and above in English and maths.

The Lynton Road school places a focus on business and enterprise and sport, and is one of only 10 schools in England to be awarded Basketball Academy status by Basketball England.

Dr Jeffery Quaye, head of school at City of London Academy (Southwark), said:

"I am really delighted to see many excellent achievements today and proud of the work done by both students and teachers at City of London Academy (Southwark). A huge congratulations to all."
