Students at City of London Academy (Southwark) celebrate 99% A-Level pass rate

Students at the City of London Academy (Southwark) were jumping for joy as they received their A-Level results today (16/08).

Sixth formers at the school achieved a 99% pass rate and 72% of students received A*- C grades.

The Lynton Road school places a focus on business, enterprise and sport, and is one of only 10 schools in England to be awarded Basketball Academy status by Basketball England.

Executive Principal, Richard Bannister said:

We are delighted with these excellent outcomes for our students which reflects their hard work and commitment to their futures. 

“More than 100 students from the academy will be progressing to their chosen universities and we wish them the very best as they take the next step in their educational journey.”

City of London Academy (Southwark) is part of the City of London Academies Trust, which runs the City of London Corporation’s sole sponsored academies.

Andrew McMurtrie, Chairman of the City of London Academies Trust, said:

“Congratulations to all the students for achieving outstanding A-Level results. Credit must also go to staff at CoLA Southwark staff for all their time and effort in supporting our pupils in achieving the very best in their exams.
