Ruby Sayed re-elected as Community and Children’s Services Committee Chairman

Members of the City of London Corporation’s Community and Children’s Services Committee have re-elected incumbent Ruby Sayed to chair the body.

The committee is responsible for the City Corporation’s social housing – running 12 residential estates across the Square Mile and six London boroughs.

It also oversees the City Corporation’s public health, leisure, and social services programmes, and the organisation’s work as a local education authority.

Ms Sayed, a barrister by trade, will continue to be supported in her role by the committee’s deputy chairman, Helen Fentimen.

Chairman of the City Corporation’s Community and Children’s Services Committee, Ruby Sayed, said:

“Being re-elected as the chair of this committee is a great privilege and honour.

“The committee plays a leading role in the lives of City residents, young people and workers. And I am totally dedicated to ensuring that we continue to meet their expectations.

“Together we will make sure the Square Mile remains a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for people to live, work and visit.”
