Protect your family this winter: get your jabs and cost of living support

City residents are being urged to get their COVID-19 and flu jabs to top up their immunity this winter.

The City of London Corporation, which governs the Square Mile, is also encouraging people to access the cost of living support available to them.

People aged over 50, pregnant women, and those with certain health conditions are all eligible for a COVID-19 booster and a flu jab.

You can book online at www.nhs.uk/wintervaccinations.

Children can also have a free NHS flu vaccine if they are aged two or over or at primary school. Older children, who have long-term health conditions, are eligible as well.

The City of London has one vaccination centre at Boots pharmacy, 104 Cheapside, London EC2V 6DN.

There is another just over the border in Tower Hamlets at Sai Pharmacy,19 Stable Walk, Goodman’s Fields, London, E1 8EJ.

And in Hackney people can get their autumn booster jabs at Richmond Road Medical Centre, 136 Malvern Rd, London E8 3HN among other venues.

City residents can get help with benefits, bills, debts, employment, housing costs and more by visiting the City of London Corporation website or calling 020 7606 3030.

There is also support with food costs for those living on or around the Golden Lane Estate at St Luke’s Community Centre.

Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Community and Children’s Services Committee, Ruby Sayed, said:

“This winter it is important that residents at risk from COVID-19 and flu get their jabs to protect themselves from serious illness.

“As the weather turns colder, we are keen to ensure that residents are aware of the cost of living help available to them.

“Our message is simple: protect your family’s health and get support, if you need it, to combat the rise in prices of energy and food this winter.”
