Over 3,000 young people join London Careers Festival

More than 3,700 young Londoners will link up with top UK firms at the London Careers Festival which begins today.

During the week-long event, 30 leading businesses, including the Evening Standard, Bloomberg, Natwest and PWC, will hold a series of webinars, offering apprenticeships, online workshops, talks and Q&As.

The City of London Corporation, which runs the festival, wants to connect young Londoners to the world of work, fuelling their imaginations and developing their skills.

The Festival is open to primary and secondary school pupils, and students aged 16-19.

The annual careers fair has been running since 2019, with over 7,500 pupils taking part so far.

Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Education Board, Caroline Haines, said:

“This partnership gives young Londoners the skills and experiences they need to have successful careers.

“Good career information and guidance is critical if young people are to raise their aspirations and take advantage of the opportunities available to them.

“The London Careers Festival helps firms play their part in developing the future workforce, improving the employability prospects of youngsters and opening up a wide pool of talent for businesses.”
