Mark Boleat, Chairman of Policy and Resources at the City of London Corporation, said:

“My colleagues and I are delighted that Sir Simon Rattle has agreed to become the London Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director from September 2017. Based around the City of London’s Barbican Centre, which is home to the LSO, the success of the City’s cultural hub continues to go from strength to strength and this news will excite music lovers who share Sir Simon’s passion for classical music and appreciate his world-class skills.”
