Lord Mayor's Show fireworks cancelled as mark of respect to Paris victims

As a mark of respect to the people of Paris we will light up Tower Bridge in the colours of the Tricolor tonight instead of going ahead with the Lord Mayor’s Show Fireworks.

It is time for a show of solidarity with the victims of an atrocious terrorist attack and not a time for celebrations.

We are asking all people planning to attend the fireworks to cancel their journeys.

The fireworks were due to take place on the river at 1715.

Tower Bridge will be lit up between 1630 and 1830.
