London Warm Winter Welcome campaign: charities invited to bid for funds

Charities and voluntary organisations are being offered funds as part of a City of London Corporation campaign to offer ‘warm space’ events throughout the winter period.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to pay for activities where people can come together and keep warm during the winter months.

The City Corporation’s Warm Winter Welcome campaign aims to create friendly and non-judgmental spaces where everyone is welcome.

The organisation is a social landlord, managing twelve housing estates across the City of London and the London boroughs of Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, and Tower Hamlets.

It is looking for applications from charities and voluntary organisations to hold events anywhere in the City of London and on the housing estates it runs across the capital.

The money is available from its Stronger Communities Fund, which promotes community health and wellbeing initiatives.

Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Community and Children’s Services Committee, Ruby Sayed, said:

“This funding programme is an opportunity to support London’s communities and bring people together this winter.

“The ‘warm space’ events will provide a chance for the elderly, those living on their own, and vulnerable people to be supported and connect with others.

“I look forward to seeing bids from a variety of organisations and I am confident these events will help make a huge difference over the winter months.”

Funding is available to new organisations or those that already hold a 'Stronger Communities' grant. This funding is in addition to the existing small grants programme. To make an application visit this page.

If any organisation has additional questions they can email grants@cityoflondon.gov.uk.
