  • KPMG, BDO, and Eversheds Sutherland collaborate with the Office for Investment: Financial Services
  • Firms will assist companies looking to invest in the UK
  • Support will cover areas including listings, regulation and visas

The City of London Corporation will be working with three of the world’s largest financial and professional services institutions to boost investment in the UK.

KPMG, BDO, and Eversheds Sutherland will collaborate with the City Corporation’s Office for Investment: Financial Services (OFI:FS). Announced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves in her Mansion House speech in July 2025, the OFI:FS offers tailored support to companies looking to invest in the UK.

The three firms will provide early-stage support for overseas companies coming through the OFI:FS. Support includes a range of services, such as explaining the tax and regulatory system,  providing introductory advice on visas, and navigating the pathway to buying, listing or selling a company.

As well as offering technical expertise, KPMG, BDO and Eversheds Sutherland will help OFI:FS to promote UK investment opportunities to stakeholders in the nearly 170 combined jurisdictions they operate in.

Minister for Investment Lord Stockwood said:

"The UK is a global hub for financial services, and by drawing on the expertise of these leading professional services firms - the OFI:FS will be well-placed to attract the investment Britain needs to become the number one destination for financial services by 2035.

"With financial services identified as a key sector in the Modern Industrial Strategy, we're creating the right conditions to boost economic growth and create jobs, supporting local communities across the country."

Policy Chairman of the City of London Corporation, Chris Hayward said:

“This agreement marks a major step forward in strengthening the UK’s position as a leading global investment destination. By bringing together the expertise of City of London Corporation, KPMG, BDO and Eversheds Sutherland, we are creating a powerful platform to unlock new opportunities and drive long-term growth. We are grateful to our partners for their commitment and collaboration in supporting this shared ambition.”

The OFI:FS combines government authority, regulatory expertise and industry insight to deliver responsive, tailored support aligned to company needs.

Since its launch, the OFI:FS has been instrumental in assisting more than 30 international financial services firms to enter into or expand in the UK market.

The collaboration with KPMG, BDO and Eversheds Sutherland will further strengthen the OFI:FS’s ability to provide specialist expertise across regulation, tax, legal structuring and business set-up, supporting growth in a sector that employs 1.2 million people across the UK.

Anna Purchas, London Office Senior Partner & Vice Chair at KPMG UK, adds:

“This initiative will bring investment, jobs and growth to London and across the country. The UK’s strong legal and regulatory system is a jewel in our crown, providing stability and a platform for growth for those entering the market. KPMG UK has a historic depth of expertise in the financial services sector, which is invaluable in helping overseas investors navigate the UK’s rules and regulations. Working alongside the City of London Corporation and OFI:FS, we will be proud to play an important role in maintaining both London’s and the nation’s global standing.”
