City of London Academy Highbury Grove celebrates GCSE results

Students at City of London Academy Highbury Grove have been celebrating their GCSE results today.

Following last week's pleasing results at A Level, 49% of students have achieved a grade 4 in English and mathematics and 33% have achieved a grade 5 in the same subjects. 

Some of the highest achieving students include:

 Kiri: 4 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 1 grade 7

Anya: 4 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s

Joa: 3 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s, 1 grade 7

Alex: 3 grade 9s and 6 grade 8s

Arthur: 5 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 1 grade 7, 1 grade 6

Felix: 3 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s and 1 grade 6

Rayhan: 1 grade 9, 3 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s

Salman: 3 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 4 grade 7s and 1 grade 6

City of London Academy Highbury Grove is a member of the City of London Academies Trust, which runs the City of London Corporation’s sponsored academies. 

The City Corporation sponsors 10 Academies across Hackney, Islington, Newham, and Southwark.

Headteacher of City of London Academy Highbury Grove, Aimee Lyall, said:

“Over this last academic year our students and teachers have worked hard. They have demonstrated determination and have achieved some good results.

“I am delighted for them and I wish them the very best of luck in the next phase of their lives.”

 Chair of the City of London Academies Trust Board, Catherine McGuinness, said:

"Congratulations to our students for completing this crucial phase of their education successfully.

“I hope that we have prepared them for bright and successful futures, and we wish them every success as they move on to the next phase in their lives.”
