Global finance leaders to meet in London to accelerate net zero

  • Net Zero Delivery Summit set to take place in the City of London on June 24 as conference enters its fifth year
  • Global climate leaders to discuss how to address financing gap for net zero projects
  • Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies announced as Summit sponsor while the Government’s Chief Scientific Advisor confirmed as a speaker

Hundreds of global climate and finance leaders will gather in the City of London next month to work out how to address the multi-trillion-dollar investment gap for net zero.

Hosted by the City of London Corporation on 24 June, the Net Zero Delivery Summit forms part of a series of events taking place during London Climate Action Week 2026 – Europe’s largest city-wide climate event, taking place from 20–28 June.

Now in its fifth year, the Summit comes at a pivotal moment for global markets. While global funding for net zero is at record levels, it is not at the amount required to align with net zero pathways.

To address this gap, the Summit will bring together senior leaders from global finance, government and industry to explore how to accelerate investment into net zero projects. Discussions will focus on improving interoperability across jurisdictions, developing financial instruments capable of crowding in private capital at scale, and identifying policy interventions.

Speakers confirmed for the Summit include the Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley; the Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser, Dame Angela McLean; Chair of the Transition Finance Council, Lord Alok Sharma; and Singapore’s Ambassador for Climate Action, Ravi Menon. Further speaker announcements will be made in the coming weeks. Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies have been announced as the Summit’s sponsor.

Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley said:

“Markets are operating in a fundamentally different environment than when net zero entered the political mainstream. Geopolitical fragmentation, rapid advances in technology and accelerating physical climate impacts are reshaping how capital is deployed and how risk is priced.

“The success of the transition depends on how markets adapt. In a world where urgent priorities are increasingly competing for attention and capital, we must maintain momentum in our investment in decarbonisation and energy security, and ensure that this momentum delivers the meaningful, system-wide transformation required.”

BloombergNEF’s New Energy Outlook 2026 Net Zero Scenario estimates that reaching global net zero across power, transport, industry, and buildings will require $235 trillion in capital investment by 2050 — including $134 trillion in emerging and developing economies alone. Bloomberg Intelligence estimates that climate-related economic losses have exceeded $20 trillion since the turn of the century, doubling each decade over the past three and underscoring the growing cost of delayed action.

The UK Transition Finance Council, who will present at the Summit, have previously warned about the financing gap in carbon-intensive sectors too.

The City of London Corporation will offer a free livestream of the Summit, available to register here. In-person attendance is by invitation only.
