Give it a Go Festival at West Ham Park

West Ham Park is holding a sports extravaganza on 17th July from 1pm – 5pm. The “Give it a Go Festival” is an opportunity for the whole family to try out free taster activities like tennis, cricket, yoga, pilates and volleyball, supported by experienced coaches. As well as sport, there will be live music, pop-up street food and a plant sale. The Lawn Tennis Association will be providing free balls and rackets on the day as part of its Great British Tennis Weekend.

Lucy-Ann Murphy, Manager at the City of London Corporation’s West Ham Park said: “This is an opportunity to learn something new, brush up your skills or just have fun. We hope to see lots of familiar and new faces at the event and know it will be a fantastic day.”

West Ham Park is also offering families the chance to grab their hands on a “Summer of Tennis pass” for only £30. A pass grants families access to free online court bookings throughout August 2016 at the 12 recently refurbished tennis courts. Equipment and ball hire are also available so no one needs to miss out on the tennis.

The City of London Corporation owns and manages West Ham Park which gets over a million visitors every year. The City Corporation funds green spaces across London. The green spaces, most of which are charitable trusts, are run at little or no cost to the communities that they serve. They are funded by over £28million a year from the City of London Corporation, together with donations, sponsorship, grants and income generated on site.
