Forest Family Fun for February half-term

The City of London Corporation is running two fun events this half term at Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge and The View, on Rangers Road, Chingford. Its £1 per person (under 3s are free), suitable for all ages and abilities – and no booking is required.

Wednesday 18 February 12noon-3pm is the first in a series of Family Learning Events (FLEs) on the classical elements, which will be themed ‘Water’. There will be an interactive water activity, a display, and a quiz. Participants will be able to make their own underwater pond scene complete with puppets of creatures found in Epping Forest.

On Friday 20 February 12noon-3pm there will be an event with a completely different theme that is well-suited to the atmospheric Tudor Lodge: ‘Henry VIII’s Six Wives’. Meet Henry and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Activities will include making a mask, a quiz, a Tudor family tree activity, plus special activities for our youngest visitors.

Jo Price, the City Corporations Forest Centres Officer for Lifelong Learning at Epping Forest, said:

“Whether you’re an adult or a child, we promise two stimulating, enjoyable afternoons at our Forest Centres in Chingford. If you’re already a member of our popular Family Learning Event passport scheme, remember to bring your passport to be stamped and you may be able to claim your next Epping Forest Learner badge. If you haven’t already signed-up, you can do so for free at both of these events.”
