Deputy Chairmen elected to City Corporation Policy and Resources committee

City of London Corporation Members today elected Simon Duckworth OBE, DL, Chris Hayward and Tom Sleigh as Deputy Chairmen of its Policy and Resources Committee.

Both Mr Duckworth, and Mr Sleigh represent the ward of Bishopsgate. Mr Hayward represents Broad Street.

Policy and Resources considers matters of policy and strategic importance to the City of London Corporation including matters referred to it by other Committees and Chief Officers. It also supports and promotes the City of London as the world leader in international financial and business services and to oversee, generally, the City of London Corporation's economic development activities, communications strategy and public relations activities.

Policy Chairman Catherine McGuinness said:

“I am delighted that Simon, Chris and Tom have been elected as Deputy Chairmen of the Policy and Resources Committee – I look forward to working with the team.

“With Brexit on the horizon, the financial and related professional services sector is facing a crucial moment. This team is clear of the needs of the City ahead of this pivotal time.

“I’d also like to pay thanks to my former deputy Sir Mark Boleat. He has proven a supportive and dedicated representative throughout his time as Policy Chairman and subsequent year as Deputy.”
