COVID-19: get your jabs to boost immunity

The City of London Corporation is urging Square Mile residents and workers to get their COVID-19 jabs to top up their immunity this spring.

The COVID-19 spring booster is available to everyone aged 75 or over, those who live in a care home, and people aged over five who have a weakened immune system.

First and second doses of the COVID-19 jab are still available for anyone aged five and over.

You can book through the NHS App, by calling 119, or at nhs.uk/CovidVaccination.

People who are eligible and registered at the City’s only GP surgery, The Neaman Practice, will receive a text message allowing them to directly book their booster.

In neighbouring Hackney, eligible people can get their jabs at Richmond Road Medical Centre, 136 Malvern Rd, London E8 3HN or The Lawson Practice, St Leonards, 85 Nuttall St, London N1 5HZ, among other venues in the borough.

And nearby in Islington, vaccinations are being offered at venues including Murrays Pharmacy, 96-98 Murray Grove, London N1 7QP.

The last appointments - including those for first and second doses - will be offered on 30 June.

Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Community and Children’s Services Committee, Ruby Sayed, said:

“This spring it is important that eligible residents and workers get the jab to protect themselves from serious illness.

“Especially those people who have health conditions and who are at risk of hospitalisation.

“I would also encourage anyone who has not yet had their first or second dose of the vaccine to get their jabs and join the nearly 43 million who have already had both doses.”
