City streets are buzzing again, says Policy Chair

The Policy Chair of the City of London Corporation, Catherine McGuinness, today addressed the Court of Common Council, the City Corporation’s main decision-making body and celebrated the return of workers and visitors to the Square Mile.

She said:

“September always has the air of a “new term” about it, and this year particularly so.

“The Square Mile is buzzing again, as we see the numbers on our streets grow, offices come back to life, and our shops, bars and restaurants open for business.

“While the virus may not have gone we are learning to live with it.

“We have busy times ahead, as we focus on our support for continued recovery, our support for the global competitiveness of the City as a world leading financial centre

and our work to meet the climate challenge, through our own climate action strategy, and our plans for COP 26 and beyond.”
