City of London Corporation welcomes High Court ruling on air pollution

Responding to today's High Court ruling on air quality, Jeremy Simons, Deputy Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Environment Committee, said:

“This ruling is a stark reminder of the public health crisis facing London and the UK.

“There is a strong desire from London’s businesses and residents to see a major improvement in air quality, and together we want to see bold and practical action to reduce emissions and exposure.

“We are playing our part by leading a co-ordinated London-wide crackdown on drivers who leave their engines on when parked. We have also banned the purchase of new diesel vehicles for our own fleet - and urge other public bodies to do the same.”
