• City of London Corporation announce plans for the inaugural Global Risk Summit in London on 12 May 2026
• Global business and government leaders to explore how London’s insurance market can tackle risks from AI, cyber, geopolitics and climate
• Flood Re, CMA CGM Group, Quantexa and IFM among the more than 30 speakers and sponsors confirmed, with further announcements expected

The City of London Corporation has announced that the inaugural Global Risk Summit will take place in London on 12 May 2026, bringing together leaders from business and government to examine how the London Market can help organisations manage the most pressing risks facing the global economy.

The Summit comes at a time of profound change. Artificial Intelligence is reshaping industries, geopolitical tensions are fragmenting markets, and more frequent and extreme weather events are increasing costs and uncertainty for businesses worldwide.

Last year, major brands across a number of sectors have experienced cyber-attacks, resulting in significant financial and operational impacts. At the same time, the Met Office has warned that record-breaking and extreme weather events are becoming the new normal, while ongoing global conflict continues to disrupt supply chains and investment.

London’s specialty insurance market, with an annual premium income of $187 billion – is uniquely positioned to help businesses understand, mitigate and transfer these risks.

The Summit will serve as the centrepiece of the very first London Risk Week, taking place from 11–15 May 2026. Driven by the London Market Group, a trade body for London’s specialty (re)insurance sector. Risk Week brings together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to strengthen collaboration and reinforce London’s position as the world’s leading centre for risk management.

More than 30 speakers and sponsors from government and some of the world’s largest and most innovative organisations have already confirmed their participation at the Summit, with further announcements expected in due course.
