City Corporation responds to lifting of Covid-19 legal restrictions

The Prime Minister has today announced the lifting of all remaining Covid-19 legal restrictions in England from Thursday 24 February.

In response, the City of London Corporation’s Policy Chair Catherine McGuinness said:

“The past two years have been exceptionally difficult for many businesses in the Square Mile. Let's hope this difficult time is finally ending.

“The City’s streets have been springing back to life in recent weeks as more and more workers return. Today’s announcement will add to the growing momentum behind the return of workers and visitors.

“There has never been a better time to come back and enjoy the Square Mile’s vibrant offer. The City Corporation’s Square Smile campaign will be showcasing the very best of our hospitality, culture, retail and much more to support the recovery.

“At the same time, everyone should continue to act responsibly, including by getting the vaccine and any booster as soon as possible. We must now learn to live with the virus.”
