City Academy Southwark GCSE results 2016

Examination success was celebrated at the City of London Academy Southwark today following another year of excellent GCSE examinations results.

76% of students achieved a minimum of 5 A*-C passes including English and Mathematics, a great improvement from 68% last year. Excluding Mathematics and English the students achieved 83% 5+ A*-C.

Richard Bannister, Principal at the City of London Academy Southwark, said:

“I am delighted to say that there has been a significant improvement in our GCSE results. We have had a sea of happy faces at the Academy today, with the vast majority of our students getting, or exceeding the required grades to enable them to continue into further education or take on paid employment.”

Catherine McGuinness, Chairman of the Education Board at The City of London Corporation said: “We are very proud of our students and what they have achieved. We wish them all well with their next steps and look forward to welcoming many of them back into the sixth form.”
