Chair of City of London Corporation’s Digital Services Committee re-elected

The Chair of the committee which oversees IT services at the City of London Corporation has been re-elected.

Dawn Wright will continue to head the Square Mile governing body’s Digital Services Committee, a position she was first elected to a year ago.

The committee reviews the objectives and needs for the provision of information systems at the City Corporation and its institutions. It also supports the City of London Police.

The committee works to promote the City and the capital as cyber secure and as a key market for digital products and services.

Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Digital Services Committee Dawn Wright said:

“For someone with a background in the IT industry, it’s a privilege to be re-elected to continue to lead the important work the Digital Services Committee has been doing over the past year.

“The City Corporation is responsible for a huge range of services from looking after bridges, to wholesale markets to libraries, alongside vital functions such as payroll and accounting, all of which need suitable and reliable IT systems to do their job.

“I look forward to continuing to promote the City as a centre for digital innovation and skills and to ensure we benefit from world-leading cyber security systems.”

Having held senior positions, including board-level roles, at major telecommunications and IT companies and founding her own company, Dawn has been a member of the City Corporation since 2019.

With a passion for education, she is Chair of Harris Academy Bermondsey and sits on the board of the Harris Federation, an education charity led and run by teachers which manages 48 schools in and around London.

She is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists – one of the City’s more recently established trade guilds – and chairs its equality committee, focusing on charitable work and improving the lives of others through technology.
