Catherine McGuinness statement on new London & Partners and Innovate Finance data

Responding to new fintech investment data released today by London & Partners and Innovate Finance showing that London has overtaken New York, Catherine McGuinness, Policy Chair at the City of London Corporation, said:

“London’s unmatched global appeal for fintech is an affirmation of its fundamental strengths and its status as a world-leading financial capital, reflected in its unique combination of time zone, language, legal system, global talent, and financial ecosystem.

“The capital is a hugely attractive destination for fintech investment as it is an international gateway, offering fintech firms an environment that encourages innovation.

“It is vital that as we leave the European Union we maintain access to the global talent that is so essential to fintech’s success in London, and that we avoid a no-deal Brexit to shore up our path towards future growth.”
